Partnership FAQs
Got a question? We’re here to help.
-
Do you handle the state proprietary school licensure process?
Yes. After onboarding, you’re assigned a dedicated State Compliance Expert who manages the licensure build.
We:
Provide the required documents and state-aligned templates
Collect your business, facility, and program details through a structured intake
Draft and assemble your complete licensure packet (catalog, policies, disclosures, required forms, and attachments)
Run a pre-submission quality check so your packet is organized, consistent, and ready to submit
You submit under your entity, but the packet is built by our team.
-
How long does it take to launch my school?
Your launch timeline depends primarily on your state’s authorization process. In most states, approval typically takes about 4–8 months, though some states can take longer.
-
How much is your turnkey program?
Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links. -
I saw a competitor that offers a surety bond for my $40k investment. Do you offer this?
In a deal like this, the bond can be less protective than the buyer thinks.
A surety bond does protect the obligee if the principal fails its bonded obligation, but it is a three-party guarantee tied to a specific contract obligation, not a blanket “you can’t lose” promise. The bond only responds to the bonded obligation and only up to the penal sum.
-
A competitor website states they will obtain 24 studnts for us on a limnioted time basis before it reverts to 12 students. Do you offer this?
We do not use shifting headline guarantees that sound bigger than the written system behind them. We define the launch infrastructure, admissions assets, compliance scope, and protection terms in writing so buyers know exactly what is included and what happens if a milestone is missed.
-
How involved does the dentist need to be? How many hours per week?
One of the biggest advantages of the SMV school model is that the dentist does not need to run the program day to day. The school is structured so it can operate with dedicated oversight, trained instructors, and clear systems already in place.
Each campus must have a qualified School Director who is responsible for compliance, administration, and overall program oversight. In many states, the dentist can serve in that role if qualified, but in other cases it may be assigned to an approved administrator based on state requirements.
Daily teaching and student training are typically handled by experienced dental assistants, hygienists, or other approved instructional staff who already work for you. Once your selected instructor completes our Clinical Ready certification course, they will lead the supervised hands-on lab activities, and manage student progression through the program.
For the practice owner, involvement is usually centered on sponsorship, leadership, and supporting the facility partnership rather than personally teaching classes every week. That means most owners can add a new revenue stream and workforce pipeline without taking significant time away from their practice.

SMV’s turnkey package gives you everything needed to launch and grow your school with far less guesswork. We provide state licensure support, your school website, pre-licensure marketing, done-for-you campaigns, admissions and enrollment services, onboarding, instructor training and certification, a dedicated Partner Success Manager, business plan support, licensure renewal assistance, and ongoing marketing support. You also receive our proprietary Clinical Ready™ curricula, detailed lesson plans, syllabi, hour-by-hour teaching guides, externship and final exam packets, catalog, enrollment agreement, and an online LMS platform with unlimited student capacity for each curriculum. Partners also gain access to multiple dental and medical curricula at no additional curriculum cost. The only major separate marketing expense is your school’s ad budget. The result is a complete launch-and-growth system designed to help you open faster, train better, and produce graduates with a level of clinical readiness few schools can match.

How do I get students enrolled?
Student enrollment is one of the most important parts of a successful school launch, which is why SMV includes school marketing as a service as part of your turnkey model. We help partners build a real enrollment engine—not just a website and a hope-based launch.
Our system includes pre-and post licensure school marketing, digital campaigns, local visibility strategies, lead generation systems, enrollment funnel setup, admissions support, follow-up structure, and recruitment messaging designed to move prospective students from inquiry to enrollment.
We also help optimize your school’s website and admissions process so leads are handled properly and conversion opportunities are not lost.
The goal is to help your school launch with momentum, build awareness early, and create a more predictable path to paid student enrollments. Your school is responsible for its own advertising budget, but SMV provides the in-house done for-you marketing setup, strategy, campaign structure, and support framework behind it.

Do I need classroom space or a large office to run the Clinical Ready™ program?
No. One of the biggest advantages of the SMV Clinical Ready™ model is that it does not require a traditional classroom setup, lecture room, or costly buildout.
Unlike conventional programs that depend on in-person lectures and classroom teaching space, the didactic portion of our program is completed by students through the online LMS. That means your site is used for what matters most: hands-on Clinical Ready™ training, live practice blocks, and skill-based instruction in a real dental environment.
In most cases, one or two operatories plus the normal infrastructure already found in a dental office—chairs, sterilization area, x-ray equipment, and clinical work areas—are enough to operate successfully.
Instructors do not have to spend hours preparing classroom lectures or building lesson materials from scratch. SMV provides an hour-by-hour instructor guide that can be followed directly from an iPad, allowing instructors to stay focused on coaching, correcting, demonstrating, and validating student performance at the facility.
Our facility setup team also works directly with your instructor to create practical, efficient station setups that fit your office and support smooth training flow.
The result is a far more efficient, clinically relevant model that works within a real practice setting—without the wasted space, overhead, and academic-style classroom structure of traditional programs.
-
Do I need specialized training equipment for the 12-week Clinical Ready™ program?
Not a large amount of specialized equipment. One of the advantages of the SMV Clinical Ready™ model is that most of the core training environment already exists inside a functioning dental practice. Standard operatories, dental chairs, instruments, sterilization areas, materials, and x-ray equipment typically provide the majority of what is needed for hands-on training.
There are, however, a few key training items required for proper program delivery. Basic typodonts are used for demonstration and skill development, and an adult x-ray manikin is an essential component for our more intensive radiology training - especially if you're in California and are offering our Dental Board of California - approved radiology course.
SMV generally recommends the Kilgore adult x-ray manikin, which is typically around $1,800 and will last for many years.
Additional chairside training manikins are usually modest in cost, often around $200 each, depending on the model and supplier. SMV provides partners with a supplier list and equipment guidance so the site is set up correctly from the beginning.
Consumable training supplies such as gloves, masks, PPE gowns, and similar consumables are generally budgeted at about $100 per student and are built into the school’s tuition and fee structure.
In fully digital practices, a portable handheld x-ray unit may also be recommended to support training flexibility.
Overall, the required setup is practical and manageable because the Clinical Ready™ model is designed to work within a real dental office rather than requiring a costly traditional school buildout.

What is the tuition for students in the Clinical Ready™ program?
Tuition for the 12-week Clinical Ready™ program typically ranges from $4,800 to $5,500 per student, depending on the market, included certifications, and campus structure. That tuition reflects a very different training model than a traditional classroom-based dental assisting program. Students progress through validated weekly skill gates, then move into clinical blocks designed to harden and stabilize those skills through repeated live practice application. This is followed by a paid 3-week externship beginning in Week 10, giving students meaningful real-world exposure before graduation.
This paid externship structure is one of the features that makes the SMV Clinical Ready™ program especially unique within the dental assisting education industry. It gives students a faster return on their educational investment because they begin gaining paid clinical experience before the program is even completed.
That also makes the program more attractive in the marketplace and can help campuses fill class seats more effectively, since prospective students see a clearer path to hands-on experience, workforce readiness, and income opportunity.
Because of this structure, students are not simply completing modules and passing quizzes. They are moving through a rigorous, clinically driven system designed to produce graduates with the equivalent of months of practical experience in a real dental office environment. We also help schools offer student payment plans and connect with lending partners to make enrollment more accessible.
